About Us

Home of the BEARS, Breed Street "STEM" Elementary was founded in 1888 and was one of the first five Los Angeles City Elementary Schools. Today Breed Street Elementary is the educational foundation of our neighborhood. Our focus on academic rigor, nurturing a positive sense of self and pro collegiate environment, is what makes Breed Street successful. Our school has been a recipient of grants and donations, which have provided technology, library books, and upgrades. As a Science, Engineering, Technology, and Math focused school, our mission is to inspire and empower our students to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and innovators who are prepared for the challenges of the 21st century. There are many opportunities for parents to be actively involved throughout the campus. At Breed we believe that together (parents, students, and teachers), we can make a positive difference in students' lives.
